I will be basing my CD design and other aspects of my project on the artist/band Bastille with the genre Alternative Rock.
The songs on this album will be quite deeply written songs, that have really powerful lyrics. I am planning on making the front cover of the cd look quite simple, but try and make it look really effective at the same time.
Seen as the name of my album is going to be Exemption, i will have the artist/model photographed in a certain way that conveys ‘Freedom’ or ‘Liberation’ for instance, the singer will be stood with his back to the camera with his head hung back and his arms wide out as if to say ‘I’m free’ and maybe have the sun piercing through the trees, another idea i have is to have the singer leant against a tree trunk with the sun rays coming through the leaves or branches, and possible photograph the sun rays to try and show the sense of freeness.
I think i definitely want to capture the sunlight for the front cover of my CD design. I want the album to have the feeling of calmness but to be really meaningful, I want the appearance of it to look really refreshing and to convey happiness.
I don’t think I am going to use a particular colour scheme as the design of the product will hopefully be a photograph but i want the colours to be really bright and look lively, warm and subtle.
